The Process

Complimentary Call

Every project begins with a complimentary call. This is an opportunity for me to introduce myself and share my company’s vision, while also answering your initial questions and discussing your ideas. During this stage, we’ll also start to understand your budget and how best to shape your project around it.

Consultation

Following our initial conversation, we’ll arrange a consultation. This will involve more detailed discussions about your garden and your aspirations for the project. While on site, we carry out a site analysis which provides us with a basic plan moving forward. Factors such as soil conditions, local climate, and available water sources are all taken into account.

After the consultation, we compile a written design brief that includes your personal wishlist. Alongside this, we create an interactive mood board for your approval, helping to set the visual tone for your new garden.

Concept Design

Using the agreed design brief and mood board, we begin to develop a sketch plan — a “work in progress” design stage where your input is encouraged. At this point, we can also present initial draft costings for the project, which we can review together either online or in person.

From here, we progress to a full concept design using 3D visuals or rendered images. These provide you with a virtual reality view of your future garden, ensuring you have a clear vision of the project before moving forward.

Design Master Plan

Once the concept is approved, we develop the full master plan. This includes:

  • 2D overview of the entire site (allowing for phased implementation if required)
  • Planting plan and soft landscaping details
  • Irrigation and drainage plans (including manual taps, soaker hoses, and drippers)
  • Electrical and lighting layouts
  • Material and product specifications
  • Details such as edging and border definition

This stage concludes with a final, accurate project costing, giving you complete clarity before works commence.

Project Management & Monitoring

With the design finalised, we oversee the implementation phase from start to finish. This includes liaising with contractors, scheduling works, and ensuring that every element is delivered to the highest standards.

We provide regular progress reports, photographs, and updates so that even if you are away, you remain fully informed and confident that your project is being executed exactly as planned.

Handover

Once the works are completed, we carry out a detailed handover of your new garden. This includes a walk-through to ensure you are familiar with the layout, features, planting, and any installed systems such as irrigation or lighting.

As many of our clients are not present on site throughout the project, we keep you regularly updated with all developments. In your absence, we act as your eyes on the ground, making sure every detail is brought to life just as envisioned.

Maintenance Schedule

To help you protect your investment, we provide a bespoke maintenance schedule tailored to your garden. This ensures your planting thrives, hard landscaping remains in perfect condition, and your garden continues to develop beautifully over time.

Consultation & Design Only

Wherever your location and project, if you require consultation and design only, we can accommodate. After a initial site viist I can work remotely via video calls, shared drawings, interactive mood boards, and 3D visuals to deliver the full design experience.

We were recently commissioned to design landscapes for luxury villas and a hotel on the Mediterranean coast—a personal first—where winter temperatures rarely drop below 10 °C, summers are hot and dry with coastal winds, and the water supply is limited. The climate opened up a wonderful array of planting options; we selected drought-tolerant, wind-resilient species and smart irrigation to maintain my signature abundance of colour, texture, and year-round enjoyment.
